Watching the fans at a minor-league baseball game is just as fun as watching the
players. From the silent statues to the loud cartoon caricatures, from the self-
contained families and social groups to those who fully participate with the game,
from the normal to the abnormal to the absolutely bizarre, the crowd at the
stadium is a microcosm of the human race .
This world of characters can be categorized into three groups according to their
interest in the game. These three main groups may then be divided into several
subgroups.
The first group is the TBFs, which is short for “True Baseball Fans.” These are
mostly individuals who are not part of families or clubs who came to the game
together. TBFs only leave their seats between innings and are, for the most part,
completely focused on the game. They pay little attention to what goes on in the
stands and couldn’t care less for the promotional events. TBFs can be found within
social organizations and families, but they come for one reason and only one
reason: because they enjoy baseball and actually know the players.
Within the TBFs, you find the Statues, who are older men who sit still in their seats
the entire game, uttering only the occasional cheer, boo, or “Call ‘em, Blue!” They
are old-school fans who could probably tell you about watching Mickey Mantle and
Willie Mays play. Most Statues complain about how commercialized and business-
oriented the game has become, and prefer the minor leagues to the majors. Statues
are as much a fixture at the ballyard as the seventh inning stretch. It would take a
wrecking ball to the stadium or a fire to move them from their seats.
In contrast to the Statues, the rabid Hecklers cannot resist a single opportunity to
hurl insults at players, managers, coaches, and, most often, umpires. There are
only a handful of Hecklers at most games, but there is one who has a reserved seat
in the front row right behind home plate, ideal for giving the home plate ump a
piece of his mind in the rudest manner imaginable. He doesn’t speak very loudly,
but if you’re in his section, you hear his caustic remarks on every missed call. I sat
behind this prototypical Heckler one game when the umpire made several calls
unfavorable to the home team. His mouth ran nonstop, like a one-sided
conversation with no response from the object of verbal abuse. (Umps must be
required not to respond to fans unless their safety is threatened.) Count on
Hecklers at any sporting event, although some youth leagues are cracking down on
fans who don’t behave themselves.
The rare YEBF, or Young Enthusiastic Baseball Fan, is under 30 and appreciates both
the game of baseball and the spectacle of attending the event. I count myself
among this group. We are a little more interested in off-field or promotional events
than Statues, but tend focus ourselves primarily on the sporting event at hand.
Most YEBFs cheer very loudly for the home team when they get a hit or make a good
pitch or defensive play, and boo when appropriate, but tend not to be as insulting
as Hecklers. Most YEBFs will come to a game whenever it’s convenient, some even
have reserved seats or ticket books. Sadly, baseball is rapidly losing fans in my age
range. Who knows what will happen when the Statues pass on…
The final and most abundant subcategory is the MAFIF (Middle-Aged, Fairly
Interested Fan). These mostly range in age from 30 to 50, are usually married and
bring their spouses to the games, and tend to talk with them a fair amount, mostly
about baseball. Some even bring their children (primarily sons) who tend to be less
interested, but probably will become TBFs as they get older. MAFIFs like to just take
in and enjoy the game more than interact with the players and umpires. A MAFIF
might tell a Heckler to quiet down, even though they may quietly agree with the
Heckler’s sentiments. Baseball has a greater percentage of middle-aged fans than
most other sports, but like YEBFs, you can find them at other stadiums and fields.
One interesting and diverse bunch I guarantee you will find at every single minor-
league game are the TEs, “Team Employees.” They are always at the game because
they get paid to be there, and most have a fun time with it. Some, however, like the
ushers, custodians, ticket-takers and those who serve food and drinks at the
concession stands, are not into the game and seem not to have a lot of fun,
including the mobile vendors who must yell “Peanuts, get your peanuts here!”
Ushers, as an example, are more focused on making sure people stay in their seats,
avoid safety risks, and refrain from sitting in the wrong section. But those who have
the most fun at the games work in the pressbox, like the radio commentator, the
newspaper reporters, the sound effects technicians, the PA announcer, and folks
who work in the PR department. These last three groups have the most fun of them
all.(1) The regular PA announcer at my hometown ballpark is the voice, informer,
and chief entertainer of the crowd. He gets to participate in most of the on-field
promotions, along with the PR folks, but he mostly sits in front of the pressbox,
regaling the crowd with his own brand of post-modernist humor, aimed more at the
average adult than at kids or real baseball fans.
The group that forms most of the crowd at the average game is the TWBPSE
(pronounced twa-BIP-see), “Those for Whom Baseball is a Primarily Social
Experience.” Three subgroups are Families, SOs, and UKs. TWBPSEs only pay
attention to the game when something big happens or when there is a rally going
on. Otherwise, they talk, eat, drink, and walk around the stadium. Baseball seems
to serve better as pleasant background for a social evening than any other sport, so
for a TWBPSE, minor-league baseball is tailor-made for conversation, unlike sports
ruled by the timeclock that demand constant watchfulness. Baseball rewards close
attention, but forgives occasional diversions.
You’ll find many families at minor-league games because the games are billed as
good family entertainment, which they are. In fact, most families are there more for
the entertainment aspect than for the actual baseball game. There are rare
exceptions, like parents who are TBFs and who try to instill their love of the game in
their kids. But most families find games to be a relatively inexpensive, exciting and
out-of-the-ordinary afternoon or evening of fun that gives their kids a different and
enriching experience of the world. Here’s an example of a conversation you might
hear within a family group wherein the father is a TBF:
Father: Christy, see that man right there with the bat in his hand? He’s
trying to hit the ball with it, hoping to run around and touch all the bases.
Christy (daughter): I WANT ICE CREAM!
Mother: Maybe you should get her some ice cream. And take Josh to the
bathroom while you’re at it.
Father: But, honey, there’s a rally going on here, can’t you take them?
Mother: But I’m busy talking to my friend Flo here.
Father: (resignedly) Oh all right.
You will find members of SOs, or Social Organizations, at most games. SO members
can be coworkers (usually in a company that sponsors the team and has reserved
seats), members of religious groups, youth groups, or nonprofit groups. Most of
these organizations are present because they get discount admission or some
special package that usually includes a pre-game picnic. For SOs, the game is
purely intended to be a time for eating, drinking, and socializing. On Advertiser
Appreciation Nights or other times when certain groups get discounts, you’ll usually
have bigger crowds, but most of the noise they make is just in talking amongst
themselves. They may react when something big happens on the field, but the
game mostly provides a nice backdrop for their conversation. Here’s a sample
conversation within a business group:
Sam: What do you think about our stock options at this point?
Chris: I don’t know, Sam, the market’s a little iffy. (CRACK) Oh, look at that
ball go.
Sam: Yeah, but none of these guys will ever make it to the big leagues.
Anyway, what are you going to tell the boss at lunch on Monday?
There are two subgroups within SOs. First are the TFBMs, “Thanks For Bringing Me,”
who come with their organization and really enjoy the experience of minor league
baseball, but are not motivated enough to go on their own. They are truly happy to
be there and you often hear them lamenting, “Why don’t I do this more often?”
TFBMs are a significant target group for most teams’ advertising campaigns. Second
are the DKAS, “Dragged Kicking and Screaming.” These are mostly kids or adults
who may enjoy themselves, but wouldn’t be there in a million years if it was left up
to them. They are unlikely to come back unless dragged again with their group.
The final group makes up the minority of TWBPSE. The Uninterested Kids, or UKs,
consists of 7 to 16-year-olds who view the stadium simply as a cool place to hang
out, eat junk food, drink soda and meet other kids. UKs may or may not be there
with their families. They may be there with a youth group, but they often choose
not to sit with them the entire game. Mostly, they walk around the stadium in small
groups or stand in the aisles in the main concourse or between the stands and field
and chat about all manner of things, never baseball. Some UKs may stand and wait
for foul balls but not be interested in the game unless a ball comes their way.
Going to get food between innings can sometimes be an adventure, having to wind
your way around groups of UKs standing around and chatting.
If you want to see for yourself just what I mean, you can go to your local minor-
league stadium. Any event that is entertaining to watch and be a part of but can
also be followed by more dedicated people will usually feature this kind of spectator
breakdown. Scope out the social scene next time you’re at a sporting event.
People-watching is just as fun as watching the game, and you may actually find
yourself enjoying both.

A class action suit is a lawsuit against a company by multiple plaintiffs who were similarly injured by the defendant. Class actions are especially good for people who individually have only sustained less than a few thousand dollars of damage. The cost of an individual suit would negate the possible recovery if they were even to win, but in a class action suit, the cost of filing and paying lawyer fees is split between all the plaintiffs. Also, they gain strength in numbers and have a more air-tight case to bring to court. Thus class action suits are often a better assurance that a satisfactory settlement will be reached.
However the benefits of class action suits are in heavy debate. One topic people focus on is a coupon settlement in which plaintiffs are given coupons to be used within a certain time and with the company they filed suit against. This can be seen either as a promotion benefiting only the company in the wrong, but if this coupon settlement could be used on a better product, gives enough of a benefit to cover the money initially lost, doesn’t expire immediately and can be transferable, then it can be a reasonable settlement. Nontangible settlements are also thought to be unfair settlements because the plaintiffs are left with defective products and are forced to pay exorbitant lawyer fees. However in some cases such as pollution cases, injunctions provided for by nontangible settlements are beneficial because they stop damages and improve health. GA

Many people in life feel that they have a lack of confidence or
that they have a low self esteem. In this article, I give free

I am Stephen Hill from Birmingham in England. I was always
somebody who had many confidence issues as I grew up, from a
child, through to adulthood. I would feel very sorry for myself
and would often be down and depressed. The issues that I had in
my life were:
A bald patch the size of a ten pence piece on my head
A problem with my speech known as a stutter
A weight problem, I was quite fat for my height
I am quite short for a male at five-foot-four
Certain people would take the mickey out of me, and their
comments would hurt. I would always make sure they did not see
my anger but inside I was crying.
These people were making my life a misery and by the age of
twenty-two I had had enough. I decided I needed a big change in
attitude and started to read books about life and about positive
thinking etc.
These were the things I had to take on board:
It is not important what other people think of you, it is what
you think that counts
You need to start to like yourself
There are various things about your person, you do not like but
which you can not change. You therefore have to start accepting
these things and realising that maybe there are other people in
life who are more unfortunate than you.
You need to have respect for yourself
Do not accept second best in life
Be happy
Learn to relax
Treat yourself to some pleasures. Like a regular massage or
reflexology
The above tips helped me to become more positive and happier in
life.

What is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder?
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, also referred to as
ADHD and formally called hyperkinesis or minimal brain
dysfunction is a neurologically based syndrome characterized by
any or all of three types of behavior: hyperactivity,
distractibility, and impulsivity.
ADHD is usually diagnosed before age seven. It is often
accompanied by a learning disability. It often create
difficulties in school, at home, or at work.
Not everyone who is overly hyperactive, inattentive, or
impulsive has an attention disorder. People with ADHD are
excessive and have long-term periods of hyperactivity,
inattentiveness and impulsiveness. Eating too much sugar does
not cause hyperactivity. ADHD is due to a chemical imbalance in
the brain.
How is ADHD Diagnosed?
ADHD is a diagnosis applied to children and adults who
consistently display certain characteristic behaviors over a
period of time. The behaviors must be excessive, long-term,
pervasive, a continuous problem, and not occuring in other
people of the same age.
What are the Symptoms?
The most common behaviors fall into three categories:
inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
Inattentive. Inattentive refers distraction by irrelevant
sights and sounds or carelessness and inability to carry simple
tasks to completion. People who are inattentive have a hard time
keeping their mind on one thing and may get bored with a task
after only a few minutes. They may give effortless, automatic
attention to activities and things they enjoy. Focusing
deliberate, conscious attention to organizing and completing a
task or learning something new is often difficult.
Some signs of inattention are:becoming easily distracted by
irrelevant sights and sounds.
Failing to pay attention to details and making careless mistakes
rarely following instructions carefully and completely losing or
forgetting things like toys, or pencils, books, and tools needed
for a task.
Feeling restless, often fidgeting with hands or feet, or
squirming running, climbing, or leaving a seat, in situations
where sitting or quiet behavior is expected blurting out answers
before hearing the whole question and having difficulty waiting
in line or for a turn hyperactivity.
Hyperactivity refers to feelings of restlessness, fidgeting, or
inappropriate activity (running, wandering) when one is expected
to be quiet. People who are hyperactive always seem to be in
motion. They can’t sit still. They may dash around or talk
incessantly. Sitting still through a lesson can be an impossible
task. Hyperactive children squirm in their seat or roam around
the room. Or they might wiggle their feet, touch everything, or
noisily tap their pencil.
Hyperactive teens and adults may feel intensely restless. They
may be fidgety or, they may try to do several things at once,
bouncing around from one activity to the next.
Impulsivity. People who are overly impulsive seem unable to curb
their immediate reactions or think before they act. They may
blurt out inappropriate comments. Their impulsivity may make it
hard for them to wait for things they want or to take their turn
in games.
What Causes ADHD?
The exact cause of ADHD is unknown.
How is ADHD Treated?
Treatment usually includes behavioral therapy and emotional
counseling and medication. Two of the most common medications
that are prescribed are: Stimulants and Antidepressants.
Stimulants decrease motor activity and impulsivenss and increase
attention span and concentration. The usual dosage is 2-3 times
a day.
Antidepressants can be used if the patient does not respond to
stimulants. Antidepressants work by decreasing hyperactivity.
Side Effects of Treatment?
Antidepressants and Stimulants may cause headaches, upset
stomach, loss of appetite, tiredness and difficulty sleeping.
Statistics
1 in 4 children with ADHD have a parent who has or has had ADHD
In about 10% of the cases, ADHD can persist into adulthood.

There are plenty of fun ways that you can craft your way into the 4th of July. If you are looking for some great Independence Day craft ideas, we have some for you. But, before you look at those options, all you have to do to come up with your own is to think about the day, the reason for the day, the colors and the fun it will offer. There are plenty of things that you can do to make this day truly amazing. If you are ready to celebrate, here are a few craft ideas to take into consideration. The Pinwheel. Nothing shouts Happy 4th like the pinwheel. TO make them, simple fold a piece of paper into a star shape. You will want to create a center section that will allow you to place a push pin through it. Have the kids color the paper red, white and blue before they begin folding. You’ll need to squares to work with. Place the two sheets together. Then, cut the first sheet from the corners towards the middle about half way. Fold the corners to the middle, secure with push pin around a pencil at the back.
Flags. Flags are the most traditional of ways to celebrate the 4th. For a simple design, have your child color a picture of the flag on a piece of paper. Then, attach one side of the flag to popsicle sticks for a pole and they have a great looking flag to wave!
Stars. Another great way to show your pride is with stars. Here have each child decorate paper stars on the front and the back in a wide range of designs. Anything goes! Red, white and blue work best. Then, place a small hole through the top of each and string them together. You can hang at your 4th of July celebration for a great way to celebrate. It makes a great decoration for around the table too.
You can find lots of fun craft projects for the 4th of July. In fact, you can make it a history lesson with a few great fact sheets, coloring sheets about the Founding Fathers and a wide range of other things. One thing is for sure. You will want the kids to enjoy themselves. Just getting out the red, white and blue finger paint and letting them go at it is enough to make this a very special celebration of the 4th of July!

countries to do battle with the superpowers. The area of
conflict will be in Eastern Europe and the Middle East,
particularly around the Adriatic and the Caspian seas and the
eastern Mediterranean. No definite winner will emerge but the
strife will help set the stage for the Antichrist. Some
prophecies in the Bible refer to events in this region ( Israel
will be involved).
Prophet Goodnews Adolphus earlier predicted the Tsunami and the
hurican disaster in his prediction of 2004 which was published
in the website of Reeds Neutical Almanacs in the month of July
2004 captioned ” Message about the release of Sadaam Husain ”
and a copy of the message was sent to the White House, the CNN,
BBC, VOA ec for a warning of the coming global disaster in
respect of the release of Sadam Husain to go back and rule the
people of Iraq now with the fear of God adding that God had
pardon him of all his sins and if the U.S ignored this warning
message will face the anger of God.
The tsunami and the hurricane are lined together. The costal
regions of Asia were affected by the Tsunami while the hurricane
affected the gulf cost of the United States. In the predictions
July, 2004, he indicated that, God’s nuclear weapon will explode
spiritually and will manifest in the form of great earthquakes
(the tsunami earthquake) and shall affect other countries around
the world. There shall be great flood which shall sweep the
United States and will last for several days. It was later
revealed that Prophet Nutradamus had also predicted the tsunami
disaster that will strike from the Indian Ocean(see Nutradamus
and the Indian Ocean disaster in search engines)while prophet
Goodnews Adolphus predicted of the great earthquake and the
flood that will sweep the United States.
Since the prophecy of Nutradamus was shown to me in a vision as
I stated in my prediction of 2004 it is now very evidence that
Prophet Nutradamus had as well predicted of Prophet Goodnews
Adolphus global prophetic ministries in the end times who shall
come from a third world country as a “YOUNG DARK LEADER” who is
to do battle with the Supper Powers; according to Nutradamus,
the area of conflict will be the Eastern European and the Middle
East…..no definite winner will emerge but the strife will set
the stage for the antichrist and that some prophecies in the
bible refer events in this regions and Israel will be involve.
In the above prophecy of Nutradamus, the third world countries
cannot gather themselves to do battle with the Super Powers in
any manner rather the young dark leader will become their
spiritual leader who shall use his prophetic office as it
happened in the days of Moses when Egypt was at that time a
world power.
Similarly, prophet Isaiah predicted the coming of the African
Prophet who is to liberate the oppressed Egyptians which
represent the entire Africa (Isa 19:20). The book of Revelation
revealed the coming of the combined prophetic powers of Moses
and Elijah in Africa; meaning that an end-time global prophet is
to minister under the anointing of prophet Elijah and Moses
clothed in sack clothed(meaning clothed) in the skin of the
blacks or as a young dark man according to Nutradamus. According
to the book of Revelation, this end-time global prophet is to
prophesy for 1260 days but shall be killed(literally ceased to
operate for a while and to be re-enforced for the final battle
of Armageddon like in the days of Samson); but the antichrist
shall defeat him and his dead body shall lie in the street of
the great city spiritually called “SODOM AND EGYPT ” in Africa
where his Lord was killed(meaning there shall be another
Jerusalem in Africa in which the temple of Ezekiel shall be
built since no prophet shall arise out of Israel as the Lord
predicted whom they rejected and killed in Israel (Rev. 11:1-13)
Prophet Nutradamus stated that the young dark prophet shall do
battle with the supper powers and prophet Goodnews Adolphus had
stated this global prophetic ministries since as far back of
1986 before the discovery of the second set of nutradamus
prophecies late in 2004 which contained the prediction of the
dark young leader. Prophet Goodnews Deinma Adolphus was born on
the 19th of May, 1960 aged 45 at the time of writing this
article started his prophetic ministry at the age of 12 being
the fist son of a barren mother. At the age of 21 in his in his
dream he spiritually appeared in a wilderness known to him as
the wilderness of John the Baptist who ministered in the spirit
and power of Elijah in Israel. In that wilderness, the heaven
opened and the angel of God descended to him with a scroll
containing several quotations of the prophecies in the bible to
interpret and re-prophesy them to the modern world in respect of
their fulfillment since those ancient names and places have
changed in the end-time programme as preachers of the bible
still focusing their attentions in those ancient names and
places mentioned and in order to be kept abbess and to follow-up
of the end-time events.
Then in July, 1984, in a vision, the mantle of the prophet
Elijah descended to me as a thick hairy blanket of rainbow color
which dropped on the branch of a tree very lower to the ground
and I picked it up. From that day I received the mantle, the
vibration of the power in the mantle started affected my
physical body like hot gases coming out of my eyes, ears and
mouth and my eyes were opened to receiving visions from the holy
bible being dramatize to me again to enable me have an indebt
understanding of that particular passage of the bible which I
use as a guide to teach using the modern understanding and
explanations because most of those things I am hearing or seeing
it for the frist time; I have not been told.
The following are some of my past international prediction I
have given from the scroll which have come to pass.
THE LIBRATION OF THE OPPRESSED BLACKS IN APARTHIED SOUTH AFRICA
Following Natradamus prediction about doing battle with the
supper powers; my first international assignment was to fight
for the liberation of the oppressed blacks in the former
apartheid South Africa. The revelation given to me from the
bible was 2nd Chronicles chapter 2:14-end in respect of King
Jehoram who was plagued by a severe sickness according to the
word of the prophet Elijah and that similar thing will happen to
the apartheid minister who shall be forced out of his throne
like King Jehoram. The message of the miraculous freedom of the
blacks in South Africa was published in the National Concord
news paper of Nigeria of 14 April, 1986 page 7.
Similarly, prior to the then apartheid South African while
minority election, P.W Pika Botha was forced to a sick bed who
then unintentionally handed over to his deputy Deklerk who feed
Dr Nelson Mandela from the prison and who also conducted a
general election involving the black majority for the fist time
in history of their country and Nelson Mandela became the
President of the free democratic south Africa. The former
apartheid regime was backed up by the world powers including the
United States and Great Britain.
CHINA FACES DOUBLE PLAUGES
In 1986, it was reported that China being a world power, had
been beating up the black students along their streets whom they
accused of spreading the aid virus; many of the blacks and other
Caribbean of African origin went to the their various embassies
to obtain their visa back home. It was reported that china had
been practicing racism against the blacks since many years ago.
Then I cried unto the Lord to save the blacks facing such
humiliation in China and the Lord replied that he will not spare
China that she must be punished and after that they will stop
maltreating your people. Since she is a world power I will deal
with her as a world power so that the whole world will know that
I am the Almighty as I worked with the prophets of old so I
shall work in this later days.
Then he show me a giant missiles; “I will sent this missiles to
the far east Asia and shall explode and manifest in the form of
great fire and tornado storm. Based on this revelation, I went
to the national news paper and paid for the avert which read
thus: “Strong message against South Africa and world events
through John the Baptist sent as a saviour for the freedom of
the blacks throughout the world..” issue of 2nd June, 1986 page
17. One year latter, The tragedy sucked; China was hit by a
severe tornado and bush fire caused by lightening from the
tornado which lasted for a whole month. China being the most
populated country in the whole world could not quench the fire
therefore called the whole world to come to their aid. The bush
fire was quenched by the tornado rainfall which struck twice.
This prediction came to pass on the month of May and June. The
quotation given to me from the bible were Ezekiel chapter
20:45-49 and Jer. 30:23-24
THE EASTERN EUROPE FLOOD DISASTER OF 1995
According to Nutradamus, the young dark leader will do battle
with the supper powers and the area of conflict will be the
eastern Europe and the middle east. In 1994, France one of the
world supper powers intimidated Nigeria who sent are military
personnel and weapons to fight along side Cameroon during the
Bakassi crisis; the whole world condemned the act including
other supper powers such as U.S and Britain; .fear griped
Nigerians as she was going to face serious battle with France
and I prayed unto the Lord and he told me that, France will not
attach Nigeria but I will fight for Nigeria; I will rain
hailstorm and flood and submerged her which will affect other
neighboring nations. I will remind the whole world of the flood
of Noah. To proof to the whole world that I am the Almighty;
this shall be her punishment The quotation given to me were Isa
28:16-29, Gen 7:11-12, 2sam 5;19-20, Joshua 10:11-13 and Deut.
29:23 The information was published in the Nigerian Tide News
paper of 27 March, 1994 front page captioned, BAKASSI: PROHET
WARS FRANCE. Then in February, 1995 the tragedy struck; there
was three days and three nights heavy rainfall like hailstorm
that lasted for three days and three nights making the Rhine
river linking the countries in the eastern Europe overflowed and
submerged France, Germany, Holland, Spain and Sweden all in the
eastern Europe; tens of thousands of Europeans were forced out
of their countries as a result of the great flood; it was the
worst in the past 50 years according to press report and in
other international media.
