Detox with a Brown Rice Diet

Posted in Life Of Health, Online Nutrition Resources at 6:10 pm by admin

A 7 day brown rice diet is one of the easiest forms of fasting for the uninitiated because it provides essential nourishment, cleanses the body slowly (thus producing lighter detox side effects) and doesn’t demand fasting from food as a juice detox can.

According to the brown rice diet detox program, you only eat brown rice for 5 to 7 days. You won’t suffer the problem of being hungry or suffering jitters or dizziness. You can flavour your brown rice with Bragg’s Liquid Amino Acids, similar to soy sauce but healthier as it simply contains natural sodium. A tablespoon of miso with ginger powder and garlic powder will spice up your brown rice diet. Other herbs for seasoning are also acceptable, but be sure not to overdo it. For a little metabolic lift, add chili pepper pepper. You can also use a bit of brown rice syrup, agave nectar or pure maple syrup for a slightly sweet alternative. But only do this once a day, if at all.

In order to maintain good blood sugar levels, eat 5 or 6 small portions of brown rice each day. For convenience, you can make one or two day’s worth of rice at a time. Here’s how to cook brown rice.

Be sure to have at least 3 quarts of water each day. This can include unsweetened herbal teas as well. Peppermint is a light detoxifying tea, red clover tea will support body detoxification and a laxative tea at bedtime will keep your colon moving.
