Although my dad had a receding hairline, I never considered hair loss would affect me. I first found out that my hairline was receding shortly before my thirtieth birthday. I couldn’t believe I was losing my hair. I even started losing hair on the rear of my head.
It was the first time in my life I felt old. I felt like the best years of my life were behind me. I even stopped dating. My love life was nearly non-existent. There was one girl I had been seeing casually and even though I liked her, I just stopped returning her calls. I figured that I hadn’t found the woman of my dreams with a full head of hair so there was no way I was going to find somebody with my growing bald spot. I was too discouraged to even try having a romantic relationship.
Hair loss taken a toll on me enormously, it transformed me from a confident person to a depressed loner. I’veI have always been the type of person that would not let problem overtake me. I started researching various hair loss treatments that are obtainable in the counter. Nothing that I bought from the pharmacy worked and trust me, I tried them all. After spend lots of money on products, I stopped trying for a while. It was a real low point in my life. I even stopped going out with my friends, I was so lonely.
Fortuitously, one night a good friend of mine took me out for a few beverages. He had noticed that I seemed a little down and thought he knew why. He told me about the hair loss studio in the city. My friend had gone there for hair loss treatments and had been impressed with the results. I was even more impressed. My friend had a full head of hair and there was no sign of hair loss. He made me promise to give them a go and I agreed.
I could not have been happier with the hair loss studio recommended to me. After just a few treatments, I had a full head of hair again. The results were outstanding, they did not just give me my hair back but also my confidence.

Do you have gynecomastia. If you do, then read this article. This condition happens quite frequently. In fact, probably more than you think. It happens for many reasons, and often something can be done. There are different types of Gynecomastia, or men’s breast enlargement, there are a few below to help you understand. Adolescence often brings Gynocomastia on and young men often see breast enlargement some time around nine years of age to the ages of 14 or so. A temporary condition, it’s often attributed to hormones becoming active. There are approximately 30% of these young men who wind up with slightly large breasts, and those who develop severely large breasts will have them for the rest of their life unless they seek out medical intervention. One way of getting help is to take gynecomastia drugs such as at www.manboobsguide.com/information/how-to-get-rid-of-man-boobs/gynecomastia-drugs/ which will help eradicate the condition. Pseudogynecomastia can be another problem and while it is not true breast tissue that is enlarging the breasts, it’s more adipose or fatty tissue that winds up depositing in the area. Often, exercise and diet changes may reduce the tissue, or some may choose to have liposuction cosmetic surgery. Still others may need cosmetic surgery to reduce flabby skin as well as the tissue within the breast. There is also the type of gynecomastia that happens to body builders or strength training athletes, this also doesn’t have much to do with real breast tissue but is usually due to steroid use, surgery is usually the answer to receive the flattened nipple effect. Many men experienced a glandular deposit somewhere in the nipple area or the areola. This often results in a puffy nipple area, and this is probably the most common form most men see. Many men deal with minor breast enlargement well psychologically by taking gynecomastia drugs and others do not. Those who are bothered by gynocomastia often will deal with it medically and surgically. Many men as they age will have slight breast enlargement and wind up the saggy skin or breast that is associated with older men, it is also remedied surgically.

HIV infections are on the rise. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the number of Americans over 50 who are infected with HIV have grown over 5 times (16,300 people in 1995, to 90,600 in 2003). While seniors represent about 14% of people with HIV, senior women represent 18%. The numbers of women with infections are even higher for American women of color, and come in at a staggering 47% when looking at world HIV infection rates. That means that just under half of all HIV infections are found in women worldwide.
One reason for the higher number of older women with HIV was found in a study recently published by Emory University. They surveyed 514 women over the age of 50, and found that their knowledge about transmission was poor. For example, approximately 50% of women believed that vasectomies and diaphragms prevent the spread of HIV.
Other reasons include the fact that many older women, who have sex with men, are also not using condoms, knowing they are past the point of having to worry about pregnancy. Women also erroneously think they can’t get HIV if they are not engaging in behaviors they deem as risky. The truth of the matter is this. HIV is a virus. It’s an opportunist. It does not care if you are male or female. It does not care who you have sex with, nor the numbers of people you have sex with. It certainly does not care about the color of your skin, you bank balance or you age.
HIV is primarily spread in two ways. First is though the sharing of contaminated intravenous drug equipment. Second, and more commonly, HIV is spread by unprotected sexual encounters. Women frequently are the receptive partners, and the receptive partners are more likely to become infected. Women who are post menopausal are at higher risk because of the changes in the vaginal tissue. With less estrogen to nourish the vagina, the tissue atrophies (becomes thin) and there is less lubrication. A woman can easily get tiny tears in her vaginal tissues, thus leaving an opening for virus to gain entry to her blood stream.
What’s a woman to do?
- Know your own HIV status. Contact your health care provider, or (if you want anonymous testing) the local health department for testing. I do not recommend home testing at this time. First, if you are positive, are you really? And if you are negative, are you really? If positive, confirmatory blood testing is required. Many offices have started using rapid testing in the office where preliminary results can be obtained in 20 minutes. In the meantime you can get the appropriate information on how you need to proceed.
- Know your partners history (this goes for both male AND female partners ladies!). Do they have a history of multiple partners and unprotected sexual encounters? Have they been tested? When? Did they get a follow up test at 6 months? What were the results?
- Condoms and lubrication are essential. Use them not only on your partners body parts that may be entering you, but also on any toys you may be utilizing as well There are several online and confidential sources to purchase lubricants, condoms and gloves.
- Limit your exposure when possible. Think twice if you are engaging in high risk behavior with a casual or new partner.
- Educate yourself. The information presented here is just a small portion of what you need to know. Each of us bears the responsibility to educate ourselves and our partners.
For many women, sexual activity does not stop just because they reach a certain age. I encourage you to continue to enjoy yourselves, but do so safely.

My daughter and fiancé have finally set the “big day” but now
comes the fun part of helping the control freak plan the
wedding. The control freak being my daughter.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m really looking forward to helping my
daughter and I’m accustomed to her control freak nature. This
could be a really fun experience if you look at the right way.
I’ll just sit back and do what I’m told when I’m told.
If you’ve ever known a control freak you’ll know what I’m
talking about. These people simply can’t give up control of any
aspect of their lives. They must always be in control, so the
title “control freak” is rightfully earned.
Now helping a control freak plan a wedding, can you imagine,
after all everything is going to have to be perfectly
controlled. Anything gone wrong is liable to land in quite a
burst of verbal displeasure.
Now as the helper you have some choices. You can either step
back and find the situation quite amusing and thus keep your
sanity. Or you can get drug into the chaos and panic and loose
your sanity. I’m opting for the amusing approach.
Watching a control freak plan their wedding is rather like
watching a juggler with about 12 extra balls. Your just waiting
for one to drop! And eventually one will and all you can do is
be their to pick up the pieces.
It all began with choosing the “perfect date.” Now a sane person
would wonder what does a perfect date look like, but a control
freak spends hours going through each month and each date
listing the pros and cons until they are satisfied they have
found the perfect date.
God help us all if the weather decides to not co-operate. But
that’s okay after a few stressful day my control freak daughter
has decided that August 16th 2006 will be a perfect day.
To the sane person it will be a perfect day no matter what goes
wrong, but to my control freak daughter all I can hope is that
the day is truly perfect in every way!
Well our next mission was the gown and if you have never shopped
with a control freak you will not understand how amusing this
can be. At least from the view point I’ve chosen to take.
Grant it some moments are enough to make your hair stand up and
shout “Stop you’re driving me crazy.” A couple of deep breaths
and the amusement returns.
A normal soul will know that there is no such thing as the
perfect wedding dress or the perfectly fitted wedding dress
right off the rack. Yes a wedding dress can become perfect but
it may take some alterations.
Shopping for that wedding gown with a control freak leads to
comments such as the sleeves are too puffy, the train slides
just a little to the right, the v neck is ” from perfect, the
…..Well you get the picture. They are looking for perfect by
definition in their brain.
Many of the gowns my daughter tried on were perfect as far as I
could tell. She looked beautiful, breathtaking, and sexy all the
things a bride should be. But to her it was not “perfect.”
As luck would have it one bridal show as she shifted through the
gowns this beautiful dress jumped out at her. When she tried it
on it fit her perfectly and not only by my definition but by her
own.
Not an alteration needed, not a tuck, not a hem. It was infact
perfect. So you see even the control freak can find a perfect
gown.
Our last adventure was in locating the perfect place for a
reception. My control freak daughter has yet to find the place
that makes her feel safe and in control.
Thankfully she still has time and as luck goes I’m certain we
will find that perfect place. I’m sure they’ll be plenty more
highlights before she has her wedding planned.
The message here is not to make fun or chastise the control
freak, after all we all have our faults, but rather to point out
that no matter how stressed you become while planning your
wedding it will all come together. Besides I believe every
future bride turns into a control freak to some degree when
planning their wedding.
So control freak are not you don’t have to settle for anything
less than your definition of perfect and with some shopping
you’ll be able to find it for a price within your budget.
Just remember that your wedding will be “perfect” just because
it is your special day!

The question of how to start growing a beard is fairly easy to answer.
Stop shaving.
It’s the issue of beard shaping, beard trimming and beard maintenance that is generally of concern moving forward.
Once you stop shaving for a few days, the first thing you’ll find out is whether or not you can actually grow a beard. What I mean is do you actually have the ability to cover your face with uniformly-grown hair or do you simply grow hair in tufts which ends up making you look like someone who just hasn’t shaved in a few days?
The second question is whether or not growing a beard actually suits you or not.
Some guys can pull it off, some can’t.
Once you’ve stopped shaving, I’ve found that it’s best to let it grow out for several weeks before you start trying to shape it. Once you’ve figured out how much facial hair you’re actually going to have, then you can start shaping, etc and can figure out what beard style suits you.
If you start shaving it too soon, you might end up taking too much off and end up shaving it all off once you realize you shaved didn’t get it right.
When it comes to growing a beard, perhaps the best way to maintain it is to get a beard trimmer. I use a beard trimmer for my goatee and its was a great purchase. A beard trimmer can make beard shaping, beard trimming and beard maintenance pretty simple.
A good beard trimmer costs perhaps $20 and will have several length settings which enable you to grow it as long or as short as you like and still keep it symmetrical and neat.
When growing a beard, you can decide how long you want to grow it and a beard trimmer will help you. With a decent trimmer with several length settings, you could grow it longer or you might select the shortest setting and go for the stubble look which suits some guys well.
One of the things you’ll have to get used to is the feeling of having a beard. You might experience a scratchy, itchy feeling once the hair gets longer or you might notice that your face feels warmer during hot weather given the insulating feeling hair can give you.
Or you may not notice any difference at all.
If you find that your beard is getting itchy, use the shampoo you wash your hair with to wash it to ensure it’s being kept clean. You might also look at using a conditioner, too. You might also find that the shorter you keep your beard, the less irritating it is.
The best part of course is that if after a few days/weeks/months of growing a beard you realize that it isn’t something you want to continue with, you can simply shave it off with no harm done.
If you get to this point, before you shave it off you might try to shave all the hair off except the hair around your lip and mouth, leaving a goatee, to see if this suits you instead of a full beard.
Temporary and permanent hair removal technology is evolving constantly and is relevant to both men and women who want to remove unwanted hair.

Imagine living without illness to slow you down. While there are no lifetime guarantees, enough scientific research has been done to make long, healthy living a possibility. To help women boost health, we list five medical conditions that are of great concern: heart disease, breast cancer, osteoporosis, depression, and autoimmune diseases.
1) Heart Disease: Heart disease is the leading killer of both men and women. In women, the condition is responsible for about 29% of deaths. Yet death in itself isn’t the biggest problem for women with heart disease. The real trouble is in premature death and disability. There are far too many dying of heart disease in their 60s. There are (also( women who, for many years, are really ill with heart disease- being out of breath, not being able to walk even one flight of stairs… because heart disease impairs their ability.
Must Read: Heart Attack Symptoms, Prevention and Treatment- You can actually prevent heart attack at http://www.weightloss-health.com/prevent%20heart%20attack.htm
2) Breast Cancer: Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women. It is second to lung cancer as the leading cause of death for women. Experts say the fear of breast cancer can sometimes be exaggerated, stopping women from going to their doctors for screening, or pushing women to make rash decisions about mastectomy, when it may not be necessary. There’s a lot of treatment for breast cancer. Women should educate themselves.

3) Osteoporosis: Osteoporosis threatens a lot of people, of which 68% are women. Osteoporosis is largely preventable. The behaviors that women develop in their childhood, in their adolescence, and in their early adult years really play a significant role in the development of the disease. That’s because bodies build up most of bone mass until age 30. Then new bone stops forming and the focus is on maintanance of old bone. It is never too late to keep bones strong and avoid fractures.

Random Tip: US scientists have claimed that secondhand smokers are at higher risk of Breast Cancer. Earlier, their research also led to the conclusion that young women smokers are more likely to get addicted to smoking than young men. The Breast Cancer findings are part of a 1,200 page report of the Air Resources Board, which has done ground-breaking work in regulating US auto-emissions
4) Depression: Depression appears to affect more women than men. About 12 million women are affected by a depressive disorder each year. Women need that sustenance, and if they don’t have it, they tend to get depressed. Sometimes, hormonal changes can also trigger the condition. Statically, the healthiest adults are people in significant relationships. Adults not in nurturing relationships can reduce their risk of depression by making efforts to reach out into the community.
Must Read: What is Depression? Know its facts, symptoms and treatment at http://www.weightloss-health.com/Depression.htm
5) Autoimmune Diseases: Autoimmune diseases are a group of disorders in which the immune system attacks the body and destroys or alters tissues. There are more than 8- serious chronic illnesses in this category, including lupus, multiple sclerosis, and type 1 diabetes.
It is believed that 75% of autoimmune diseases occur in women. by themselves, each disease appears to be uncommon- except for diabetes, thyroid disease, and lupus, but as a group, the disorders make up the fourth-largest cause of disability among women. It is not known what causes the body to turn on itself, but genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors are suspects.
Since autoimmune diseases are not very well understood, pinpointing specific risk factors is difficult. Symptoms can also be non-specific, hampering proper diagnosis. However, if you know something is wrong with you or a loved one, it is important to become an active health advocate. It is very common for women to make multiple visits to multiple doctors to finally get a diagnosis, but someone should take their symptoms seriously.

Some pregnant women suffer not only morning sickness, it’s often
more morning, noon, and night sickness. They feel sick all the
time, and want to crawl back into bed. Pregnant women will learn
in this article from http://www.pregnancy-information.org five
powerful tips that will ease morning sickness.
1. Control your blood sugar level Allevate morning sickness
pregnancy by keeping your blood sugar level stable. Obviously,
sleeping is a major problem when you are trying to regulate your
blood sugar. Try to eat without getting out of bed. Your partner
will be happy to bring food to you every morning. Take only
small bites. Try to eat a little bit, then wait to stand up.
Give your body time to get the food into your system.
2. Watch out what you eat! Morning sickness pregnancy is also
triggered by certain foods. Avoid foods that will spike your
blood sugar level. Foods such as processed sugars and white
flour can cause morning sickness pregnancy. Whole grain foods
and protein are a good alternative as they are less likely to
cause nausea.
3. Be careful with drinking too much water Although Doctors will
tell you repeatedly to drink plenty of water, it can make
morning sickness pregnancy worse. They are trying to ensure that
dehydration doesn’t become a problem. Try some alternatives to
water. Try drinking smoothies with a little plain yogurt with
fruit mixed in. Mix the water with a little lime or lemon. You
can even try tea - cold or hot tea very watered down. Fruits
such as melons can help with morning sickness pregnancy.
Regardless of your preference, it is extremely important to stay
hydrated. If water is exacerbating morning sickness pregnancy,
you do need alternatives.
4. Smells can trigger morning sickness pregnancy Another issue
that can cause morning sickness pregnancy is odors. There are
steps you can take to alleviate morning sickness pregnancy due
to smells. One hint is to let your husband change diapers if you
have other children. Cook odor-neutral foods - no garlic,
onions, or oily fish. Stay away from people that have odor
problems. They can make your morning sickness pregnancy worse.
5. Positive Thinking You can ease morning sickness pregnancy by
focusing on positive things. Remember, while your face is in the
toilet, you are growing another person inside you. This is one
of the most wonderful times in your life, and the morning
sickness pregnancy will not last forever. In a few months, a
beautiful baby will come out and your life will be more
fulfilled than you could ever imagine. Read baby name books,
look at pregnancy clothes, and try to get yourself excited that
you are about to have one of life’s greatest little gifts.
