Most people see gemstones strictly as decoration, such as gemstone beads; that is, jewellery to wear simply for aesthetical purposes. But stones are also considered to have many remedial properties; e.g. (depending on the stone) the ability to promote self-confidence, concentration, relieve headaches and stress, promote a calm mind, and encourage positivity.
We will look at a small variety of gems and their commonly believed medicinal properties. Amazonite
This gemstone improves confidence and gives hope to the person wearing the gem.
Amber
This stone relieves physical stress, stills nerves and aids confidence. It arouses creative thinking by freeing the mind of negative thoughts. It is claimed to be good for joint problems and work as a tonic for the liver and kidneys.
Amethyst
Amethyst calms the mind and assists increased harmony and serenity. It cuts down self-destructive propensities and boosts self-healing. Amethyst also confers wisdom and honesty on those who wear it.
Malachite
A strong gem which can suck up negative energies and “contamination”. Effective for those suffering from emotional stress.
The preceding gemstones are only a tiny pick of gemstones that are claimed to have restorative powers. The only concrete way to realise if these stones can work for you is to wear such stones if you suffer from a complaint that a gem is believed to help alleviate.

Astrologers made predictions on the effects of solar eclipse based on their mythological beliefs that solar eclipse spells misfortune and disorder.
People for ages have considered eclipses especially solar eclipse as a bad omen. The belief still prevails among a large section of people, despite awareness of this natural phenomenon.
Eclipses have always been considered as harmful, according to the Hindu astrology.”During solar eclipse, one must pray to their reverent deity. We should chant god’s name during eclipse to avoid ill effects of eclipse. This is century’s biggest solar eclipse. This will not only affect India, but the entire world. This will bring changes and affect social, financial and political sectors,” said, Kahniya Maharaj, an astrologer.
For instance, pregnant women in India are advised to take precautions during the eclipse.
“Only would-be-mothers should take care during eclipse. I will advise them to stay indoors and not to touch any sharp objects during the eclipse. They must chant sun god’s name during eclipse,” said Prasad Dikshit, an astrologer.
In India, total solar eclipse on Wednesday will be visible in Patna, Bhopal, Indore, Gaya, Varanasi, Bhavnagar, Darjeeling, Gangtok, Sibsagar, Surat, Ujjain and Vadodara.
It will be last of the kind to be visible in the country for the next 105 years.

I lay here wanting sleep, yet morbidly fascinated with the mood of my body and the thoughts of my mind reflecting on the state of my being and the state of my community. I see the paradox of existence, with a burning desire to follow a higher call into the battle for spirit; an awesome challenge during a time of such materialism. Our separation from spirit is so complete that our goals are all for personal gain. Our desire for fulfillment seeks to gratify itself by devouring others. He with the most toys wins; a statement that focuses on the survival of the fittest and winning at all costs.
My Being feels the pain of separation. As spirit, we’re here to create and to serve creation. We are happiest when we experience the fruits of such transactions in time. We are meant to soar, to experience the divine through the powerful relationship of love for our fellow man; community. We are not intended for a hedonistic experience. We are here for something far different; we are gifts of Creation for Creation.
Growing up with friends, family, school - the system - we copycat the instructions for a life that we are given. It is a dog-eat-dog world we’re told, look out for number one! But this only happens because we permit it and perpetuate it by accepting it as unchangeable. Did we forget? We came together to fight tyranny and oppression wielded by one single power wishing to dominate the world. Today, the closest single person with this face is George Bush at the helm of the world’s most powerful country. But the real enemy is faceless, hidden behind the seat of power and wealth that controls the world economies and politics. The real enemy is greed for money and power.
The energy amassing in society today is at a significant crossroads. We will either transcend the fear, reaching a new spiritual order in the world, offering peace and unity as a powerful force for positive change, or, we will succumb to our base fears and desires, witnessing greater numbers of trespasses against other persons, groups, and countries. As well, with the paranoia, we will revert to behaviors of lust, substances, and other hedonistic addictions to block out the pain of our separation from spirit.
Spirit is Love. Love for God. Love for Creation. Love for Self. Love for Others. Love and Spirit are inseparable, clumsy in this material world; clumsy in thought, word, and action, but powerful beyond measure. Love is authentic and truthful; it is not an emotion alone. It is far more: It is a connection to the everlasting source of life. It creates an energetic force that courses through our spiritual being causing a sensation of bursting us wide-open. This divine force, so unknown and untapped in our lifetime overwhelms us with love, blinding us to the intention of the gift. Rather than openly sharing, we wish to hoard the gift and sensation, sharing with no one. The gift of love is to be given, not taken, nor to be solely shared with one single individual. It is a life-giving energy that transcends all situations, elevating the life experience of our spiritual selves.
How do we as simple human-beings, so untrained and under-developed in the spiritual realms, learn to let this powerful force flow? It catches in my being, in my breath, in my heart. I wish to hang onto it, to someone else’s, hoping for it to never change. Other times, it brings such pain. The opening chasm aches for all the pain and hurt being experienced in the world all around me. And yet, I know, and have experienced, the truth of its undying source; it’s ever-flowing ability. If only I could sustain that peak. The paradox of being human and spirit; of wanting more and wanting less; of wanting it all and of wanting nothing; of needing companionship and needing to be alone; of wanting love and yet, to still taste hate.
We have become vicious with one another. There is something wrong. We would rather hold others back or knock them down instead of celebrating their fullest potential, pushing them to success. If only we could see how important each and every one of us is in the grand scheme of things. We could then find happiness in our part and we could fit comfortably into community instead of feeling like a lesser person than the next man.
Where has the balance gone in our existence? We’re all supposed to be children of God, of Creation. If we were not, then nothing on this planet would exist either. God can be whatever you want it to be. I cannot define God. I can call God the Creator, Life Force, Mother Earth (all small views of God), the Universe (may still be too small - what do we know), Energy, Spirit. This entity, unknown to us, defies all human understanding and experience; it just IS.
But children, we have to grow up. We have to stop fighting. We should play nice. What greater miracles can we achieve if only we could do these few simple things?

Mankind’s ability to give life to lifeless objects, gives rise to much of the grief and frustration that he brings upon himself. He animates, or humanizes all sorts of things and other creatures, then believes in his mind that they are human.
This is all part of his creative power and clearly demonstrates his ability to create his own reality. In his own life he believes the illusion of his own existence. The illusion is powerful and keeps him grounded within the parameters of his physical world.
It does not stop him from reaching out to create or find new life in other lands, space or in his pet rock or stuffed animal. Mankind has a obsession to find life, where ever life may exist, even if he has to imagine it.
At some level of understanding man feels the connection to his surroundings and has a hint that it is life that created them. He humanizes so that he may get close to his surroundings and communicate. So the he may get confirmation of that connection. It is this same ability that has caused man to humanize his creator, so the he may feel the connection and be able to look him in the eye and commune.
This human quality has had the effect of making his god more approachable and less powerful. It has also added separation. The creator in reality is neither a thing nor an object, she is a thought process, and does not physically exist. God can never be found, because God is everything that is and is not.
Humanity has tried to create another stuffed toy, and has given it human qualities…put it on a pedestal and has worshipped it. He has humanized it and lives in fear of it. Man has tried to create something that already exists, that he can relate to with the human physical senses. Then he does not understand why it does not react to him or respond in human terms.
Mankind believes that he himself, is alive… it is the puppet that is alive, not the puppeteer. The puppet brings life to the one that created it. It is the object of mans attention that creates the illusion that man exists at all. That is the great secret. That is what brings mankind to the physical realm. It is the objects of mans existence that creates his illusion. It allows him to move in this environment giving him the illusion of motion, moving from one object to another. Focusing his thoughts from one thing to another allows him the belief in motion and distance; such as a cartoon that is drawn on a page and on others in incremental steps. When viewed one page at a time quickly, it gives the illusion of motion to the character on the pages.
Remove mans objects and he becomes motionless, he is no longer relative to anything.
The illusion disappears. Man moves in these incremental steps. But it is not him that moves. Only his focus, that shifts from one probability to another.
In the world of illusion, people are the illusion.
I am the observer, because it is I that is looking back at myself, it is my physical reflection, my idea of what I would look like in the physical world. It is the image in the mirror that has the life, looking back at itself. The illusion and the object become the same, they are immersed into one entity and the distance between becomes the illusion.
Time and space allow the illusion to happen. Time and space become the illusion. Know this, that the only thing real about you, it is your thoughts. Your physical thoughts are created in the objects around you. Your thought about cold, brings objects into your life that reflect cold or hot. Because you have experienced both in your lifetime, it is not necessary to experience them physically in order to appreciate the difference. The memory of the experience, brings the physical experience into you consciousness. Do not knock yourself out trying to understand this, it will literally drive you from your mind, simply be aware and use the illusion to experience yourself, which is me, in all the physical manifestations that you experience.
When you give a name or human attribute to an object, understand that you are trying to connect to the life force that is animating you, you are trying to touch me. It is your natural tendency to create and become part of your surroundings. Keep an open mind, that your existence depends upon you creating them.
A shark will die if it stops swimming. You will die if you stop creating. Change is your only permanency. Keep changing and you will experience life. Give up attachments, become attached to creating, and you will feel life within your lifeless body.
Give life to your Teddy Bears, your car, your golf clubs, give them names and communicate with them, you will begin to understand your true nature, as that of creator. You are me, creating and bringing life to lifelessness. It is an endless journey that has only movement. Life exists only in the creating,not the objects of creation. Here in lies your power, in your ability to create and believe in what you have created, believe in the illusion. I believe in you, my creations, you bring me life.

Do you try to say kind things about people?
Do you notice their worthwhile traits and tell them so?
Do you use encouragement words?
Courage is the root of encouragement. We instill courage in others by offering encouraging words. If people believe in themselves, they will try their best. By speaking words of encouragement, we encourage ourselves.
Courage is a Reflection of Your Higher Self
Courage is a reflection of your higher-self. When you speak encouragement words to others, the positive energy contained within them summons each of your spirits. For example, the simple act of telling a waiter that he is providing splendid service will make the waiter receptive to you, and he will go out of his way to continue to please you.
You may think about the service being good, but left unexpressed, your thoughts won’t benefit the waiter or you. Giving encouragement is so basic of an act that we seldom do it as a matter of course. We may think that we are always encouraging. But are we?
When was the last time that you complimented your spouse, friend, relative or stranger? Do you feel that people have to provide an outstanding service for them to merit your praise?
Help Others to Develop Their Strengths
I’m not advocating praising poor performance; however, a few well-chosen words of encouragement may improve poor performance. To obtain the best that someone has to offer, we must first look for what is the best within them.
We don’t do this by trying to change the way a person is. Rather, we encourage them to develop the strengths they have. In the words of Kahlil Gibran: “Our worst fault is our preoccupation with the faults of others.”
Just as it is important to encourage others, it is even more important to encourage yourself. You may not receive much attention or a boost of morale from others. If no one is supportive of you, have confidence in your own self-worth. What you aren’t getting from others will be supplied by your own inner resources.
Don’t wait for someone else to complement you before you complement them. Others may be just as hesitant to expose themselves to your rejection as you are to theirs. Taking the first step to uplift another human being is clearly a sign of courage.
Restoring Balance
There are many themes in literature where mean spirited, spiteful people suffer mental and physical breakdowns due to the consequences of their thoughts and actions. However, once these characters realize the wrongs of their actions, they make amends and restore balance.
To accomplish balance, people must direct their minds to positive change. The mind is like a horse; without a master to rein it in, it does as it pleases. Some of us seem to figuratively have let our minds go out to pasture - having little regard for ourselves or others. Life is much more focused and purposeful when we consciously strive to master our thoughts and actions and follow the dictates of our spirits.
You Hold the Keys That Unlock Entanglements
People look kindly upon others who attempt to restore good relationships. We can begin changing our lives at any moment, because we hold the keys that unlock the entanglements we’ve made for ourselves.
Bringing out the best in another person will add to the lustre of your own success. When you appreciate other people’s efforts and boost their self-worth you are directly helping to form a better world.
If you complain that people don’t smile at strangers anymore, or that they aren’t friendly, change the status quo by smiling and being friendly yourself. If you lack courage, all the more reason to encourage.
